Al Sultan Brahim
A Lebanese success story
A couple of months ago a dear friend of mine called and asked if i would come Lebanon to shoot his daughters wedding. Being a freelance photographer and vowing to not do wedding photography i was a bit apprehensive. I told him would do but without pay. The day i arrived the first thing we did was go to have lunch at an institution.
Upon entering you choose your freshly caught fish
Al Sultan Brahim is located right on Jounieh Bay north of Beirut.
Our table with a great view
Al Sutan Brahim opened in 1968 and now has several locations. I find the original is usually the best.
My favorite Fattoush salad
Tabbouleh
Their version of Hummus
Mutabbal Eggplant sprinkled with pomegranite
Kibbeh - bulgur flour filled with ground lamb and spices then deep fried
Once we sat down the items started coming one after another. Traditional levantine dishes as well as a few specialties. Mezza overload, here we come!
Freshly prepared hot pita bread, i think i ate about 6
Octopus in a spicy red sauce
Locally caught Malifa fish
a sort of chocolate pate with crisp biscotti like pieces inside
Picked to the bone
We dined at lunch time and it has to be one of my top ten dining experiences. Special friends, great ambiance and of course great food makes for a memorable lunch.
nice clean logo
I was able to sneak behind the fish counter and snap a quick shot of the Sepia photos at the entrance.
I will definately be back to experience this restaurant in the evening.
